Once again, we got a phone call from a customer that wasn’t happy with his experience at the local Audi Dealership. He told the story of how he was driving his 2004 Audi A4 Ultrasport Avant (drool) when it just cut out on him and stopped running. Unaware of his options, his first reaction was to have it towed to the local Audi Dealership where he had prior service done. After sitting at the dealership for a full two days, they told him they were unsure of the problem and only way to repair the vehicle would be to remove his aftermarket intercooler, return everything to stock and go from there. Estimated cost of repair: $3-4000.
Not liking the sound of this, Mr. Customer started calling shops. Fortunately, one of his first calls was to the guys over at Reese Tuning, who told him they could probably fix the car but he’d be better off calling Exalt, since they’re the Audi experts, which is exactly what Mr. Customer did.
After hearing the story and the recommendation to return the vehicle to stock in order to perform the repairs, we explained that he had options and the one that was on the table didn’t sound like a good one. About an hour later, the A4 showed up at Exalt via tow-truck.
The Audi went immediately into one of the Service bays, where the diagnostic process began. In under an hour, the problem was discovered and in less than 3 hours, the problem was fixed and the car was back on the road. Total cost of repairs: $356 including parts – not a bad discount from the $3-4000 estimate the Audi dealer gave.
Needless to say, Mr. Customer was quite happy and has already made arrangements to bring his other vehicles to Exalt for Service and Repairs.
